These terms apply to all purchases made through www.richardtswallow.com. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

About me
This website is operated by Richard T. Swallow, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.
About the artwork
All artworks offered for sale on this website are original, one-of-one pieces created by me. Each painting is signed and unique. Although every effort is made to represent colours and detail accurately on screen, there may be small variations between the image you see online and the physical painting due to differences in screens and lighting. I retain full copyright and all intellectual property rights in every artwork, regardless of sale. You are buying the physical painting, not the right to reproduce it.
Pricing
All prices on the website are in British Pounds (GBP) and include any applicable taxes. I reserve the right to change prices at any time, but any change will not affect orders that have already been placed.
Placing an order
When you place an order through the website: You are making an offer to buy the painting at the price shown. Your order is not accepted until I confirm it by email. If a painting becomes unavailable between your order and my confirmation (for example, if it has already sold elsewhere), I will let you know and refund you in full. A contract between us is formed once you receive my confirmation email.
Payment
Payment is taken at the point of purchase via Stripe, my payment provider. I accept all major debit and credit cards. I do not store your payment details on this website. All card information is handled directly by Stripe.
Shipping
Full details about shipping costs, delivery times, and policies are on my Shipping & Returns page. In summary: I currently ship within the United Kingdom only. For international enquiries, please contact me directly. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
Cancellation and returns
All sales of original artworks are final. Because each painting is a unique, one-of-one work, I do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on the basis of changing your mind. This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law in cases where: The artwork is damaged in transit — see my Shipping & Returns page for the process. The artwork is not as described on the website. The artwork is faulty. In any of these cases, please contact me within 14 days of receipt at info@richardtswallow.com and I will resolve the issue.
Title and risk
Title in the artwork passes to you when I have received payment in full. Risk of damage or loss passes to you when the artwork is delivered to the address you have provided.
Liability
I take all reasonable care to ensure that the website and the artworks I describe are accurate and that orders are fulfilled correctly. However: I am not liable for losses caused by events outside my reasonable control, such as courier delays, postal strikes, or extreme weather. My liability for any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by UK law.

Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or from any purchase will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact me at info@richardtswallow.com in the first instance. I will do my best to resolve any issue informally.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Orders are subject to the terms in force at the time the order is placed.
